About the Role

Insight Education is seeking a passionate and adaptable Supply Nursery practitioner to support a nursery in Greenwich. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and educational environment. This role involves supporting the daily activities of the nursery, engaging with children, and assisting in their development through creative and educational play.

Experience:

  • Experience with children: 1 year (required)
  • Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote learning and development.
  • Provide support to children during playtime, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Engage in creative writing and artistic activities to encourage self-expression among children.
  • Monitor children's progress and behaviour, providing feedback to senior staff as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Support children with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, by employing tailored strategies for their engagement.
  • Participate in tutoring and mentoring sessions to enhance children's learning experiences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or nursery setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children and parents.
  • Creative skills, particularly in creative writing or artistic expression, will be beneficial in engaging children.
  • A nurturing attitude with a genuine interest in educating and supporting children's development is crucial.
