Are you passionate about helping students reach their full potential? GSL Education London Branch are seeking a Basic Skills Coordinator to join a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Greenwich. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to support students in developing essential literacy and numeracy skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement targeted intervention programmes to improve students’ basic literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Track, monitor, and analyse student progress data to ensure interventions are effective and drive academic improvement.

  • Lead and coordinate a curriculum support framework to raise the achievement of low-attaining students.

  • Work closely with the SENCO and other inclusion staff to create a personalised learning approach for students with additional needs.

  • Support the overall school ethos by fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes excellence and equality.

  • Engage and collaborate with external agencies and organisations to enhance learning opportunities for students.

  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff in delivering effective literacy and numeracy support strategies.

  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of behaviour and student engagement across the curriculum.

Requirements:
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (essential).

  • Level 3 qualifications and/or a degree (desirable).

  • Work-related qualification relevant to the role.

  • Proven experience working with SEND students and those with EHCPs.

  • Strong ICT skills to support data analysis and learning interventions.

  • HLTA status or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
