Epilepsy-Trained SEN Tutor
Are you an experienced and passionate SEN tutor with specialized training in epilepsy care? About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled tutor to work one-on-one with a student in Newham with complex SEN, including epilepsy and ASD. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to meet the student's educational, social, and emotional needs in a safe and nurturing environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver personalised learning plans tailored to the student's individual needs.
  • Manage and respond effectively to the student's epilepsy-related health requirements, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Implement strategies to support ASD, including sensory sensitivities, communication challenges, and routine-based learning.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to the student's development.
  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.


Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly epilepsy and ASD.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or a related field.
  • Epilepsy training and confidence in managing seizures and emergency protocols.
  • Strong understanding of ASD and associated learning strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of the student.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within the Newham area or a similar community.
  • Knowledge of additional SEN needs and comorbid conditions.
  • Training in de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques.
