Early Years Educator / Key Stage 1 Teacher

We are seeking an Early Years Educator / Key Stage 1 Teacher for a special educational needs (SEN) school in Westminster. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with Autism and speech and language difficulties. The position is full-time, temporary to permanent, and term time only. Each class comprises a small group of 10 children, allowing for more tailored and effective educational support.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and tailored educational activities within the EYFS framework and KS1 curriculum.
  • Plan and execute lessons that cater specifically to children with Autism and speech and language difficulties.
  • Utilise and adapt various teaching methods and strategies to support speech, language, and autism SEN.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of children, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive and effective educational environment.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification, Early Years Professional Status (EYP), or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Proven experience working with children with Autism and speech and language difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to employ diverse teaching strategies tailored to the needs of SEN children.
