Learning Mentor - Alternative Provision
Location: Stratford
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £100 - 125

We are a forward-thinking Alternative Provision dedicated to supporting students who require an educational environment that is different from mainstream settings. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive space where young people can thrive, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome obstacles to their learning by:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, tailored to their individual needs.
- Building positive relationships with students, acting as a trusted role model and mentor.
- Supporting students' academic progress, personal development, and social skills.
- Working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
- Assisting in the delivery of engaging activities that inspire and motivate students.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students to develop resilience and self-esteem.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs or challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
- The ability to build rapport with students and help them engage with their learning.
- A flexible, proactive, and adaptable attitude.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Youth Work, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
