SEN Class Teacher (Primary) - Southwark

Are you a dedicated and compassionate teacher with a passion for working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently looking for a Primary SEN Class Teacher to join a wonderful school in Southwark, supporting students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning & Delivery: Plan and deliver creative, inclusive lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SLD and MLD.

Individualised Learning: Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the varied learning abilities and developmental needs of each student.

Behaviour Management: Use positive behaviour management techniques to create a safe, supportive classroom where students can thrive socially and academically.

Collaboration: Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that promote holistic development.

Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Assess student progress, maintaining detailed records, and adjusting lesson plans to ensure each child's continued growth.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with students with SLD and MLD in a primary setting.

A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching and managing behaviour.

Strong understanding of differentiated learning techniques to meet the needs of students with SEN.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable, but experienced SEN practitioners without QTS will also be considered.
