SEN Class Teacher (Primary) - Southwark

Are you a dedicated and compassionate teacher with a passion for working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently looking for a Primary SEN Class Teacher to join a wonderful school in Southwark, supporting students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

路 Lesson Planning & Delivery: Plan and deliver creative, inclusive lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SLD and MLD.

路 Individualised Learning: Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the varied learning abilities and developmental needs of each student.

路 Behaviour Management: Use positive behaviour management techniques to create a safe, supportive classroom where students can thrive socially and academically.

路 Collaboration: Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that promote holistic development.

路 Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Assess student progress, maintaining detailed records, and adjusting lesson plans to ensure each child's continued growth.

Requirements:

路 Previous experience working with students with SLD and MLD in a primary setting.

路 A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching and managing behaviour.

路 Strong understanding of differentiated learning techniques to meet the needs of students with SEN.

路 Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is highly desirable, but experienced SEN practitioners without QTS will also be considered.
