We are looking for an excellent PRU Behaviour Mentor to join one of our most reputable schools in South East London. As PRU Behaviour Mentor you will be providing a fostering and positive approach to teaching as well as managing behaviour and adhering to safeguarding principles. This PRU Behaviour Mentor role you will be supporting an ADHD year 5 child who has various behavioural challenges.

This Pupil Referral Unit school has a strong ethos to promote a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Every day is different day and we want yours to be a memorable and exciting experience.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Design and deliver personalised lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our Year 4 students with special needs.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism, speech and language difficulties, and other complex needs.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate safeguarding practices to ensure that highest level of pupil welfare is maintained
  • Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Champion inclusion and promote a positive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued.

Standard Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students who have severe SEN needs, particularly those with autism and complex needs.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, tailoring teaching methods to suit the individual learning styles of students within the class.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to the holistic development of students, fostering an environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.
  • GCSE Maths and English is mandatory
