GSL Education are an experienced and committed Secondary SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Camden. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire and empower students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive a high-quality education tailored to their individual abilities.
About The Role:
As a Secondary SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and engaging curriculum to students with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). You will play a key role in fostering a positive and structured learning environment, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support.
Responsibilities of Secondary SEN Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that cater to a range of learning abilities.
- Adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of students with SEN, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and therapists to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom where students feel safe, valued and motivated.
- Utilise a variety of differentiated teaching strategies to support student progress and independence.
- Monitor and assess student learning and development, providing regular feedback and reports.
- Implement positive behaviour management techniques to support students in self-regulation and social development.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEN best practices, policies and safeguarding procedures.
The successful candidate will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in SEN (or willingness to undertake relevant training).
- Proven experience working with students with a range of SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and MLD.
- A deep understanding of differentiated teaching strategies, behaviour management and inclusive education.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and support students with additional learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff and external professionals.
- A commitment to safeguarding, student welfare and promoting an inclusive learning environment.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
