We are seeking a DT Teacher to join a SEN school in Westminster, London. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for teaching Design and Technology to small classes of 10-12 pupils, primarily with dyslexia. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in newly refurbished classrooms and contribute significantly to the academic development of students at GCSE level.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach Design and Technology, including resistance materials, design, art, and textiles to GCSE level students.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and informative lessons that meet curriculum standards.
  • Manage a small class of 10-12 pupils, providing individual attention and support.
  • Assess and record students’ progress, preparing them for GCSE examinations.
  • Handle coursework and marking, ensuring students meet their potential.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching at GCSE level, particularly in Design and Technology.
  • Proven ability to manage coursework and marking.
  • Strong background in resistance materials, design, art, and textiles.
  • Experience working in an SEN setting, particularly with students who have dyslexia.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
