We are seeking a DT Teacher to join a SEN school in Westminster, London. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for teaching Design and Technology to small classes of 10-12 pupils, primarily with dyslexia. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in newly refurbished classrooms and contribute significantly to the academic development of students at GCSE level.
Day-to-day of the role:- Teach Design and Technology, including resistance materials, design, art, and textiles to GCSE level students.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and informative lessons that meet curriculum standards.
- Manage a small class of 10-12 pupils, providing individual attention and support.
- Assess and record students’ progress, preparing them for GCSE examinations.
- Handle coursework and marking, ensuring students meet their potential.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching at GCSE level, particularly in Design and Technology.
- Proven ability to manage coursework and marking.
- Strong background in resistance materials, design, art, and textiles.
- Experience working in an SEN setting, particularly with students who have dyslexia.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Competitive daily rate (£150 - £220 per day).
