Job Title: SEN English Class Teacher Location: Peckham, Southeast London Full-Time: 5 days per week Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, plus parent evenings Salary: Teacher salaries are determined by the national pay scales Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Contract Type: Temporary with the opportunity to go permanent School Type: A secondary PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) for boys in Peckham, Southeast London, supporting students aged 11 to 18 with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. SEN Needs: ADHD, ASD, SEMHRole Overview: As an SEN English Teacher for secondary pupils (Year 7 to Year 11), you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Functional Skills Level English and GCSE lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other related challenges. You will adapt teaching methods and materials to suit individual learning styles while fostering a supportive classroom environment. Encouraging students' confidence, participation, and progress in literacy will be a key focus. Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
- QTS or equivalent
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued in the last year)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
