SEN English Teacher - Alternative Provision (PRU)

Are you a passionate and experienced SEN English teacher looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of students in alternative provision? We are seeking a dedicated and driven SEN English Teacher to join our forward-thinking team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in East London. This role offers the chance to not only teach but also to grow professionally within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English up to Key Stage 5, with lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire and motivate students with varied learning needs.
• Develop individual education plans (IEPs) to support students' progress and ensure their unique requirements are met.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student engagement and academic achievement.
• Utilize innovative teaching strategies and resources to support and enhance learning for students with diverse needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including SEN coordinators, support staff, and external professionals, to ensure holistic support for students.
• Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to students, parents, and colleagues.
• Contribute to the school's ethos by participating in extracurricular activities, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.

Requirements:

• Significant experience teaching English in both SEN and PRU settings.
• A strong understanding of SEN education and a commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• QTS is desirable but not essential, provided you have substantial teaching experience with SEN students.
• Proven ability to create and deliver tailored lesson plans that engage and challenge students.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Flexibility, resilience, and a positive approach to working in a dynamic and evolving educational environment.
