You will be working for a national charity who delivery supported internships for young people with autism or a learning disability. The programme provides classroom-based learning (so employability and functional skills) combined with a work experience placement – and supports the young person throughout the process.You will have a varied role. Typically, you will be one day a week for an admin day. One day classroom-based working as a teaching assistant. And then 3 days visiting young people in the workplace and working with them to help them understand the role, as well as liaising with the employer for feedback and discussing any workplace adjustments. You will also support young people in the practicalities of getting to and from work. Learners and employers are typically in the Ealing area.You must have experience of working with young people, ideally SEND with autism / learning disability experience.
