In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was rated as 'Good' with the report stating that 'An enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking ethos pervades this school community'.Your duties as a SEN KS1 Class TeacherYour duties as a SEN KS1 Class Teacher will include, but are not limited to:

  • Impart knowledge and develop understanding through effective use of lesson time.
  • Know when and how to differentiate appropriately, using approaches which enable pupils to be taught effectively.
  • Know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas, including statutory assessment requirements.
  • Have clear rules and routines for behaviour in classrooms and take responsibility for promoting good and courteous behaviour both in classrooms and around the school, in accordance with the school's behaviour policy.
  • Be accountable for pupils' attainment, progress, and outcomes.
  • Establish a safe and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.

What you will need for this SEN KS1 Class Teacher job

  • Have qualified teacher status
  • Evidence of successful teaching experience in SEN settings, in post or on placement, and the potential to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice
  • Experience within an EYFS class is desired but not essential.
  • An understanding of managing planning, assessment and record keeping, and how this affects optimal pupil progress
  • Commitment to raising standards of attainment and equal opportunities across the school
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
