Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with children with Autism and other SEN needs.
  • Strong knowledge of the Autism spectrum and effective strategies to support learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each child.

Desirable Qualities

  • Experience working in a specialist SEN setting or unit.
  • Additional training in SEN (e.g., Autism-specific courses, Makaton, PECS).
  • Knowledge of sensory integration and therapy strategies.
