About the Role:

Are you a support worker who has experience working with children with special educational needs? Are you looking to explore a new opportunity in the education sector?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our vibrant secondary school in Hillingdon. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school environment to support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons by supporting students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities as an SEN Support Worker:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students are fully engaged and supported in their learning.
  • Individual and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Resource Management: Help to organise resources, ensuring that all are prepared and available for lessons.
  • Student Progress: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to student assessments.
  • Enrichment Activities: Support the development and delivery of extracurricular activities, such as clubs, workshops, and field trips.

About You:

  • Experience with Special Educational Needs: Either working as a Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Sports Coach, Youth Worker or Support Worker.
  • Passionate: A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people in the field of Maths.
  • Organised: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Desirable: Previous experience working with young people, either in a teaching, tutoring, or mentoring capacity, would be advantageous but is not essential.
