SEN Teacher - Newham - Special School - KS4 - KS5

Salary: £38,766 - £50,500

The School: 

I am actively searching for a SEN Teacher for a fantastic brand-new, purpose-built Special School in East London. This school provides care and education to children with Autism and Complex Needs predominantly as well as various other learning difficulties. It is a fantastic purpose-built site undergoing transformation into a school with a range of quality facilities for sensory learners. Working as part of a Trust that functions across East London and Essex, this school boasts incredible development and training opportunities.

The Role: 

This role will be a class teacher for for a small class of 7 students in a special school setting, they display SEN needs such as autism and can also have some levels of behaviour. They are working at an academic level for Entry level 2 & 3 Quals and Edugcas, you will be teaching maths, English & science. 

You will need to have behaviour management and teaching experience for this role. 

Experience Required: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • Experience working in a Special School.
  • Experience of working with children that have autism. 
  • Attention to Autism trained or knowledge of. 
  • Clear experience of keeping children engaged within lessons. 
  • Subject based experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding. 
  • Team Teach/Positive Behaviour trained (desired not essential). 

Skills Required:

  • Empathetic, understanding and patient 
  • Pro-active
  • Able to meet deadlines 
  • Capable of creating engaging lesson plans 
  • Knowledge of EHCPs 
  • A positive attitude!
