Are you a dedicated Teacher looking to embark upon a new journey?

Do you have a passion for and a real interest in working with young people with Special Educational Needs?

This Specialist School for children aged between 3 - 19 years in Hackney is looking for a Qualified SEND Teacher to start as soon as possible and for September 2024!

Within this role, you will be supporting children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and, Autism.

This large SEND School is a place where pupils can find Fulfilment, Belonging and Greater Independence. You would be teaching children and young people with severe learning difficulties, autism, and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The school is very well resourced and excellent support is in place for both staff and students, as well as excellent CPD opportunities.

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas teaching certificate recognised by Naric

* Experience of working with students with SEND within a mainstream or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting - preferred.

* A patient, flexible and understanding approach

* Excellent communication skills

* Existing DBS check on the update service

* Experience of PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method and other relevant augmentative and alternative communication approaches are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver effective lessons which cater to the needs of individual EHCP plans

* Be responsible for all assessments relating to class students

* Be aware of, and remain responsible for all safeguarding of pupils within your care

* Work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students

* Foster independence in students and promote well-being and good welfare
