Our client, a specialist SEN school, is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will lead a class of 7 students, each with individualised learning needs, supported by 3 experienced Teaching Assistants in the classroom.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs and abilities of each student, ensuring accessibility and differentiation.
  • Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and other complex learning difficulties.
  • Work collaboratively with TAs to provide an inclusive, supportive, and structured learning environment that promotes emotional and social development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and external professionals, providing regular updates on student progress and well-being.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom atmosphere where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and other strategies to support students' emotional regulation.


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or relevant SEN teaching qualification.
  • Experience working in a SEN setting, preferably with children with autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the challenges faced by children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching, with a passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
