About the Role:
As a SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create and implement individualised education plans tailored to each student’s needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:
- Develop and implement individualised education plans for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction tailored to students’ needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students.
- Keep detailed records of each student’s progress and communicate this information to parents, support staff, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of SEN Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in teaching or supporting students with special educational needs is essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Deep commitment to helping students with SEN, exhibiting patience and empathy.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education (desirable but not essential).
To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teacher, you will need:
- The right to work in the UK.
- An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
