We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teacher to join the team at a vibrant and inclusive school that provides high-quality education for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties.

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment that enables the students to thrive and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to deliver tailored learning experiences that meet the individual needs of the pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons for students with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and interventions to support students' learning, engagement, and development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes independence, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and SEN support staff, to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and track students' progress, adapting teaching approaches as necessary to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on students' progress and well-being.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed of best practices in SEN teaching.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children or young adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties in a special education setting.
  • A passion for working with children with additional needs, and a commitment to supporting their growth and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of SEN legislation, inclusive practices, and relevant teaching strategies.
  • Patience, resilience, and a caring approach to teaching students with diverse needs.
