An outstanding SEND school based in SE23, South East London, is looking for a SEND teacher to join their dedicated and experienced team on a long term to permanent basis in February 2025.

Contract: Full Time

Pay: £180-£230 Per Day (PAYE or Umbrella)

Setting: Secondary SEN School

Job Description

The school is a mixed school catering for pupils aged between 11-16 years old with Autism. Most pupils also have Autism, SLD, and additional physical and sensory disabilities.

The ideal SEND teacher will be a dedicated and creative educator with demonstrable SEND knowledge, Primary school teachers with a passion for SEND are welcome to apply. As an SEND Teacher should have an innovative and flexible approach to teaching. Alongside the staff, you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

The successful SEND teacher's day-to-day role will include delivering creative and person-centred lessons to up to 8 learners in a pre-formal class.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • Must have QTS
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and a passion for SEND
  • Makaton and PECS - not essential but highly desirable
  • Experience working with Complex Needs and ASD

Additional requirements:

  • References confirming suitability for the role
  • Commitment to Safeguarding
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
