SEN Teacher needed for a hospital School TLTP are looking for a qualified teacher to work full-time at a specialist hospital school from Monday 27th January up until May half term possibly longer. The school are looking to take somebody on for a trial day initially.This school are particularly interested in teachers of Art, Languages, Music and Drama, who would also be happy to lead or take part in a variety of learning experiences as part of a wider team.The ideal candidate would have experience of working with secondary KS4/KS5 pupils with special needs/in special schoolsThe setting is a specialist hospital school based in London. This is a centre that's teaches pupils in KS3 &KS4 & KS5 who are unable to attend school due to their medical needs, not behavioural. It is very much like mainstream provision with the profile of pupils being similar in that there are some very able pupils who will achieve top grades at GCSE as well as some pupils with specific learning needs. Many of the pupils have mental health needs and are supported by CAMHS. The main differences are:Reduced curriculum offer- the school delivers core subjects in the morning; English, maths and science with enrichment in the afternoons.Class sizes max 8-10 with some additional TA support in classes.Therapeutic and nurturing environment and approaches to support access to the curriculum.
