We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to join this dynamic team.

Job Description:

As a SENDCO, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure that our SEND provision is of the highest standard. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the SEND provision across the school.
  • Developing and implementing SEND policies and practices.
  • Coordinating and overseeing the assessment and identification of students with SEND.
  • Creating and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Providing training and support to teaching staff to ensure inclusive teaching practices.
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and support for students with SEND.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress and attainment of students with SEND.
  • Keeping up-to-date with national developments in SEND education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • NASENCO qualification is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a SENDCO role or significant experience working with children with SEND.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils.
