Responsibilities:
As our SENCO, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying Needs:Assessing and identifying the individual needs of students with SEND.
- Developing Plans:Creating and implementing effective support plans and interventions.
- Collaboration:Working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Training:Providing training and guidance to staff on best practices for inclusive education.
- Monitoring Progress:Regularly reviewing and monitoring the progress of students with SEND, adjusting support plans as necessary.
- Compliance:Ensuring the school meets all statutory requirements related to SEND provision.
- Advocacy:Acting as an advocate for students with SEND, ensuring their voices are heard, and their needs are met.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualifications:A relevant degree and a recognised SENCO qualification.
- Experience:Proven experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a primary school setting.
- Knowledge:A thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
- Skills:Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion:A genuine passion for inclusive education and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with SEND.
- Flexibility:The ability to adapt and respond to the diverse needs of students and the school community.
