SEND Tutor
Milk Education are working with a client who are currently recruiting for SEND Specialist tutors where you will support children on a 1:1 basis within various environments such as hospitals, homes, hubs and local libraries. For this role you will be a SEND specialist with experience within the education and/or care sector and MUST have a good understanding of the UK Curriculum. Ages of students which you will support will vary between 5 years - 25 years of age, and will have varying needs.
Support will depend on the child's needs, this could be:
- Speech and language support
- Creative, Sensory and Motor skills support
- Maths and English support
Responsibilities as a SEND Tutor:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in various subjects
- Assess students' learning needs and develop personalized lesson plans
- Help students improve their academic performance and achieve their learning goals
- Utilize effective teaching strategies and resources to enhance student understanding
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
- Collaborate with teachers and parents/guardians to support student learning and address any concerns
About you as a SEND Tutor:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or currently pursuing a degree)
- Previous experience tutoring or working in education, particularly with children
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the subject(s) being tutored
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Familiarity with special education practices is a plus
- Must be available full time
- Confident supporting children and young additionals with SEND
- Able to plan and prepare resources
- Kind, caring and positive role model
- Adhere to health care plans
- Reliable and consistent
