Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham, Southeast London (inner London), looking for a permanent full-time SENDCO.

The school’s Ofsted report says that “Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) access the same curriculum as their peers. Pupils with SEND are well supported to build up their knowledge over time.”

Ofsted also says that the proportion of pupils who receive special educational needs support is a little above average. The proportion with a statement of special educational needs or an education, health and care plan is below average.

As a SENDCO, you will be working alongside the SLT and it will be your responsibility to lead, develop and support the SEND provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities across the ages of 11-18 years.

You will have experience working as a SENDCO in a mainstream secondary school and have up-to-date and relevant SEND knowledge. You hold the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (NASENCO) qualification and have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
