EXPERIENCED SENIOR SEN OFFICERS

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Our client is seeking two Senior SEN Officers to lead teams, deliver statutory responsibilities, and drive positive outcomes under the Children and Families Act 2014.

The successful candidates will work under the SEN Manager, managing a team of Assessment and Case Coordinators to ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and the delivery of excellent services. Each role will oversee either the 0-14 or 14-25 age group, requiring expertise in one or both areas. The positions focus on leadership, service improvement, and collaboration to ensure timely delivery of Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans while supporting children, young people, and their families.

You will lead a team, fostering a positive work environment while overseeing statutory processes to ensure high-quality, person-centred EHC plans are delivered on time. A key aspect of the role is promoting clear communication and partnership working with schools, families, and other agencies to ensure inclusive practices are implemented. You will also use data to improve service quality, inform planning, and allocate resources fairly. Contributing to workforce development, policy planning, and service improvement is integral to this role.

Candidates must have a degree-level qualification or equivalent experience and demonstrate strong leadership skills with experience managing teams. An up-to-date knowledge of SEND legislation, inclusive practices, and the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders are essential. You should be skilled in managing budgets, using ICT systems, and evaluating service performance. A commitment to person-centred approaches, equality of opportunity, and professional development is vital.
