We are seeking an exceptional and experienced qualified teacher to take on the vital role of SENCO at our primary academy. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that all pupils with additional needs make accelerated progress and achieve their full potential.

Day to day of the role:
  • Play a key role within the Academy to ensure that all pupils with additional needs make accelerated progress in their learning.
  • Directly contribute to pupils’ accelerated progress through high-quality sustained teaching of intervention support based on a detailed knowledge of their specific needs.
  • Maintain high expectations, lead by example, and promote the academy’s vision, values, and aims.
  • Serve as a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT) and contribute to the strategic development and direction of the academy in line with the Academy Improvement Plan.
  • Provide leadership and direction in supporting the needs of children with SEND.
  • Take a lead role in monitoring and school self-evaluation regarding children with SEND.
  • Offer guidance and support to the support staff to achieve and maintain a high quality of provision for pupils with SEND.
  • Analyse assessment data from various sources to inform future whole school planning and resourcing.
  • Assist the SLT in undertaking delegated professional duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • National Award for SEN Coordination.
  • Ability to contribute to the professional leadership and management of a staff team.
  • Experience of using data and data analysis to drive up standards.
  • Clear knowledge and experience in all issues relating to the safeguarding of children.
