We are pleased to be recruiting additional Teaching Assistants who can provide specialist SEND Support within our partner school; a PMLD specialist provision based in London.
Specialist SEND Support - PMLD (Profound, Multiple Learning Difficulties) - Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored assistance to PMLD students during lessons and activities, ensuring a positive and enriching learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Offer mentorship to students, focusing on their emotional and social well-being.
- Attend regular training (Wednesday afternoons) and team meetings to share insights and stay updated with the latest educational methodologies and support techniques.
- Document students' progress, behaviours, and challenges, suggesting improvements as necessary.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related field.
- Experience working with students with PMLD or special educational needs is essential.
- Training in safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Able to commence your next role ASAP and can commit to at least the full 24-25 academic year.
