Your new companyYour new company is a leading health research charity dedicated to fighting diseases that impact children. The organisation funds research into the causes and treatment of diseases, supports families dealing with childhood diseases and raises awareness. This role is working in a flexible, welcoming and high-performing team which pride themselves on developing staff and creating a culture in which employees can perform at their best.Your new roleYour new role will be responsible for raising significant funds through securing new business partnerships and writing successful bids and grants. This will include:

  • Developing and executing a fundraising strategy that raises funds for the charity's research initiatives and projects.
  • Engaging potential grantees, donors, sponsors, and partners, including corporate organisations, government departments and agencies & foundations
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and fundraising that align with the charity's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Researching and identifying relevant grant and bid opportunities from government agencies, trusts and foundations, pharmaceutical organisations, charities and other funding sources.
  • Preparing persuasive grant proposals and applications with the support of the wider research team.
  • Collaborating with other teams and team members to align marketing and fundraising efforts to secure increasing funds through impact reports and content for the web, social media and other channels

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in applying for this position, you will need to have 3+ years' experience in a similar corporate fundraising or partnership role directed toward raising funds for a charity. It is also desirable that an applicant have experience in bid or grant writing to successfully raise funds. A successful applicant will be able to work autonomously and effectively manage stakeholders of varying seniority with competing priorities. It is considered heavily advantageous if you have previous experience of raising funds for a research-based charity.
