Role OverviewAs a Digital Fundraiser, you will be instrumental in supporting our essential work as our team grows and looks ahead. You are a passionate and professional fundraiser eager to specialise in Digital Fundraising, with experience across various platforms. You will assist the entire Fundraising Team by enhancing our digital efforts, transforming them into a cohesive and ambitious strategy. This role involves building internal relationships across teams to ensure Fundraising’s needs are prioritised within the organisation’s overall Digital Marketing strategy.

Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Marketing
- Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing team to plan and execute digital marketing activities, including email, social, and display advertising, to drive audience engagement and support our work, focusing on increasing income and event sign-ups.
- Implement paid content marketing initiatives, recommending content, channels, and budgets for the Fundraising Team.
- Review and assist with the implementation of fundraising marketing plans from a digital perspective.
- Support key campaigns such as World Blood Cancer Day and Blood Cancer Awareness Month, suggesting ideas and aiding in the creation and delivery of content on key channels.
- Stay updated on trends and find ways for the organisation to leverage them with relevant and impactful content.
Website & Third-Party Platform Management
- Work with the Communications & Marketing Team, Global Communications Team, and external web agency to optimise donations through the website and maximise income.
- Regularly update the website fundraising content, including challenge events, news stories, and campaign pages.
- Manage all third-party online platform fundraising (e.g., Just Giving, Enthuse, Thyngs), including logging information from the platforms onto the database and ensuring participant contact details and preferences are recorded.
- Analyse the monthly fundraising website report by monitoring donations, conversions, and campaigns.
Social Media and Email
- Develop our email marketing programme, including renewing consent and preferences to improve supporter engagement and maximise lifetime value.
- Work with the Communications & Marketing Team to develop and maintain the overall email strategy and plan.
- Use GivePanel to manage and steward social media fundraisers, record this information on the database, and maximise our use of the tool.
- Develop social media content surrounding key fundraising appeals and create paid social media content to secure donations and recruit participants for upcoming events.
- Monitor and measure the success of all fundraising-focused social media content, adapting and innovating where necessary to improve outcomes.
Other Duties
- Attend various events to assist with event management, cheering supporters, meeting and greeting supporters, registration drives, and other support roles as required.
- Stay updated with developments in the field of fundraising and blood stem cell donation.
- Comply with the organisation’s health and safety, confidentiality, data protection, and other policies.
- Participate in staff training, organisation/team meetings, and events as required.

- Perform any other duties deemed appropriate by the Community & Events Fundraising Manager, subject to time and commensurate with the level of responsibility and salary.
Knowledge, Experience, and Expertise
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a fundraising or charity marketing role for 2-5 years.
- Experience creating content for various platforms (Canva would be ideal).
- Experience using mass-email platforms (Mailingworks would be ideal) and social media tools (Meltwater and GivePanel would be ideal).
- Experience working with databases (Salesforce experience would be advantageous).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of, and adherence to, GDPR guidelines.

Conditions of Employment
- 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday (9am - 5pm).
- 25 days’ holiday per annum (plus public holidays) - increments after two years’ service, up to a maximum of four additional days per year.
- Pension scheme - automatic enrolment contribution rate: 3% employee, 5% employer.
