Job Title: Senior Accountant

Our client is a well-established firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based in Enfield. With a strong reputation for providing expert financial and tax advisory services, they support a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses across various industries.
Role Overview
Our client is looking for Qualified accountants with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience that are technically very good and able to work unsupervised and able to get accounts to partner review level
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support tax planning, VAT returns, and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
- Supervise junior team members, providing mentorship and technical guidance
- Contribute to process improvements and implementation of new financial systems
Key Requirements
- Must have at least 5 years of experience working in an accountancy practice post qualification (ACCA or other similar qualification)
- The candidate must have previously held a Senior Accountant role.
- Candidates with British citizenship or Indefinite leave to remain (ILR) will only be considered for the role
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with UK financial regulations
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and Excel
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
