Overview: We are currently partnering with a well-established accountancy practice in North London that is looking to recruit an experienced and confident Senior Accountant. This role is ideal for a qualified (or finalist) accountant seeking more autonomy, direct client responsibility, and a pathway to managerial level.

 

The Role: As a  Senior Accountant, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, preparing and reviewing accounts, tax returns, and VAT submissions. You’ll act as a key point of contact for clients, advising them on day-to-day matters and working closely with managers and partners on more complex assignments.

 

Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders

 

Manage corporation tax computations and personal tax returns

 

Oversee VAT returns and bookkeeping reviews

 

Liaise directly with clients, providing support on accounting, tax, and business queries

 

Assist junior staff with technical queries and provide mentoring where needed

 

Identify tax planning opportunities and flag advisory work to partners

 

Ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard

 

Requirements: ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist with strong experience)

 

Minimum 4 years’ experience in UK practice

 

Confident in managing a varied client portfolio

 

Proficient with cloud software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks) and accounting packages

 

Excellent communication and organisational skills

 

Able to work both independently and as part of a team
