About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse Practitioner/Lead Nurse to join a new oncology clinic specialising in complementary treatments designed to support patients undergoing cancer therapies. This state-of-the-art facility offers innovative treatments such as IV therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, photobiomodulation, and hyperthermia treatments to reduce side effects and enhance the effectiveness of traditional cancer treatments like chemotherapy.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the clinic's operations and delivering exceptional patient care. This is a unique chance to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to improving outcomes for cancer patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care:
- Administer and oversee complementary oncology treatments, including IV therapy.
- Prescribe saline and other relevant medications as required.
- Conduct patient assessments and provide expert clinical care in line with oncology best practices.
- Infection Prevention Lead:
- Develop and implement infection prevention policies.
- Monitor infection control practices and ensure compliance with national standards.
- Policy Development:
- Assist in refining clinical protocols to maintain high standards of care.
- Operational Support:
- Contribute to the development of the clinic by supporting administrative tasks such as stock ordering and patient management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Proven experience in oncology nursing.
- Competence in IV therapy administration.
- Non-medical prescribing qualification (essential).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence policy and practice.
