About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team, providing high-quality support to children across mainstream primary and secondary schools. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of children with varying speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). You will have the autonomy to manage your caseload and make clinical decisions independently, with accessible advice and supervision from senior therapists when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication needs for children with and without Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Deliver interventions for children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and dysfluency.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic and integrated care.
- Design and implement therapy plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
- Provide training and resources to school staff to promote understanding and effective support for SLCN.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, therapy plans, and progress.
- Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and reviews as required.
- Qualifications: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and current HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience: Ideally, prior experience working with paediatric clients in a mainstream educational setting.
- Specialist Training: Experience or training in working with children with autism, ADHD, DLD, and dysfluency is highly desirable.
