Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our team on a locum basis, providing essential services to children within a mainstream educational setting. This is a full-time position, focusing on a diverse caseload of children with varying speech, language, and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify speech and language needs in children.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's requirements.
  • Provide direct therapy sessions and support to children in mainstream schools.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
  • Deliver training and support to school staff on strategies to assist children with speech and language difficulties.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Stay current with evidence-based practices and contribute to team development.

Qualifications:

  • A recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working with children in a mainstream setting is highly desirable.
