Salary: £35,392 - £50,056 per annum  (paid breaks)
Hours: Full Time and Part Time hours available (standard full time contract is 40 hours per week, but there is flexible for other contract hour arrangements)

Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Speech and Therapist, your role will involve overseeing Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) for patients with complex neurological conditions. Responsibilities include managing the SLT team, providing patient care, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage SLT team, rotas, and patient care.
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients (16+) with neurological conditions.
- Use communication aids, adapt practice for individual needs, and ensure informed consent.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams and provide patient education.
- Supervise and train junior staff, students, and other professionals.
- Contribute to research, in-service training, and clinical protocol development.
- Prioritise caseloads, manage staffing, and ensure smooth service delivery.
- Lead service development, recruitment, and staff appraisals.
- Maintain accurate records, comply with clinical guidelines, and support governance objectives.
- Contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registration, intermediate dysphagia training, CPD in neurological disabilities.
- Senior-level experience with acquired brain injury and related swallowing/communication issues, community rehabilitation, multi-disciplinary teams, clinical audit/research, and supervising junior staff.
- Advanced assessment and treatment skills, clinical reasoning, communication (verbal and written), IT proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and supervision skills.
- Other: Self-motivation, teamwork, flexibility, and professional responsibility.
Desirable Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualifications in SLT/rehabilitation, RCSLT membership, additional dysphagia or communication aid qualifications.
- Experience in neurological rehab
- Knowledge of neurological rehab frameworks, research, clinical governance, and teaching/presentation skills.
