We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at aschool. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role requires a deep understanding of human physiology and anatomy, as well as the ability to develop tailored therapy plans that meet the unique needs of each client.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide therapy sessions to clients in a variety of settings, including clinics, schools, and homes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and families to ensure holistic care.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate clients and their families about speech and language disorders and strategies for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of client assessments, treatments, and progress reports.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of physiology related to speech and language functions.
  • Dysphagia experience
  • Proficiency in speech therapy techniques and interventions.
  • Understanding of anatomy relevant to communication processes.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to speech-language pathology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Empathy and patience when working with clients of all ages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
