Brief Job Description:

  • The post provides clinical cover for general and cardio thoracic critical care units and input across the acute hospital wards including general and specialist medicine, general surgery and front door services.
  • The post holder will be expected to have experience in the adult acute setting and to have highly specialist skills in the management of dysphagia and communication impairments.
  • The post holder will autonomously manage a caseload.
  • Experience with patients who have tracheostomies and are ventilator dependent is essential.
  • Experience/ skills in FEES is desirable.
  • The post holder will be supported by the Principal SLT for Acute, the Clinical Specialist for Critical Care and the wider SLT team.
