Job Title: Mechanics Instructor

Role Overview:
We are working with and SEMH college that are looking for a passionate and dedicated Mechanics Instructor to join their team. In this role, you will lead engaging and hands-on classes in motor vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics. The ideal candidate will have the ability to connect with students, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, while fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical and theory-based lessons in mechanics, covering motor vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.
- Teach BTEC/Functional Skills qualifications (Entry Level to Level 1).
- Work with students ranging from KS4 to KS5, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs.
- Maintain a safe and productive workshop space, ensuring the development and enhancement of the teaching area.
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Candidate Requirements:
- Preferably qualified in a relevant mechanical field, though unqualified instructors with the right experience will also be considered.
- Experience teaching BTEC/Functional Skills, particularly at Entry Level to Level 1.
- Experience working with students from KS4 to KS5.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to ongoing professional development.
- Strong ability to manage students with SEMH needs and promote a positive learning experience.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to the overall success of the program.
Desirable Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with City & Guilds qualifications is highly desirable.
- Clear, patient, and adaptable communication skills, with the ability to tailor lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
