These roles will be London based (at least three days per week in the office). The roles are more generalist procurement rather than railway specific so candidates with experience from a wider field will be considered, however, candidates should have public procurement experience.

Candidates should be able to work on their own but will receive guidance and instruction from time to time from the Senior Procurement Managers (SPM). They will not have any management tasks and will operate as part of a small procurement team of up to five persons led by a SPM.

The selected candidates should have a good understanding of the public sector, ideally within rail, be able to work within a small team and on their own when required.

This role is a secondment into a client of the consultancy, and knowledge of subcontracts, NEC, JCT and OJEU is required.

Overview:

  1. Develop and implement individual project and steady state contracting strategy proposals including preparation and evaluation of tender documents and negotiation of contracts.
  2. Provide post contract management reporting for a full range of contracts, such as data analysis for KPIs, spend, inventory usage/frequency against commodity and service groups.
  3. Provide dedicated support to senior staff and stakeholders in respect of individual projects and/or contract/commercial issues, including 'rapid response' to potential stakeholder issues.
  4. Target specific goods, services and/or suppliers to identify how tangible improvements may be made in the procurement of these goods and services.
  5. Attend and contribute to regular contract management meetings with key stakeholders and suppliers to monitor whether maximum value was delivered via the contract and service.
  6. Support and collate endorsements and approval of project and /or contract/commercial strategies and contract variations.
  7. Provide all services to service delivery teams in a timely and cost-effective manner and contribute positively towards the achievement of service delivery objectives.
  8. Feedback continuous improvement opportunities for future contracts/procurement strategies.
