Role Overview:
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, ensuring competitive tender submissions, and supporting the successful delivery of projects. Working closely with the pre-construction and commercial teams, the role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for complex infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to determine costs and risks.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, including design, planning, and procurement, to ensure robust cost planning.
- Evaluate potential value engineering opportunities to enhance project efficiency.
- Support contract negotiations and contribute to commercial strategy.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and emerging construction technologies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in estimating within the construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of pricing methodologies, tendering processes, and cost control.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Excel-based cost analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
