Role Purpose

  • Address anti-social behaviour problems in Harrow and coordinate action to ensure that the Council response is informed, appropriate and draws on effective practice
  • To educate and work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public.



Responsibilities
  1. Be responsible for technical and other equipment required for the efficient performance of duties, including operating expertise and interpretation of results
  2. Provide professional, expert and up to date technical advice to residents, businesses, Members and key stakeholders
  3. To issue letters, notices, legal documents, formal cautions, warnings, and other documents as required by legislation, guidance and policies
  4. Keep abreast of legislative, technical and professional developments in relation to anti-social behaviour legislation and policy
  5. In line with authorisation, carry out investigations, instigate and prepare prosecutions, attend court proceedings and deliver evidence in the event of statutory action taken for breaches
  6. To ensure full compliance with established legal procedures and legislation relevant to the preservation of evidence and court procedures, including PACE, CPIA, RIPA and similar
  7. Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, find innovative solutions to problems and influencing stakeholders to adopt best practice approaches to meet Council and Statutory outcomes
  8. To advise councillors, managers and senior officers on legislation relevant to the role of the team


Exprience
  • Expert knowledge of the legislative framework of Anti-Social Behaviour, such as the ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014
  • A working knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Welfare legislation and approved Codes of Practices
  • Experience in the investigation and preparation and presentation of cases for enforcement or prevention activities
  • Proven experience working in anti social behaviour reduction or an associated area
  • Experience working in a housing association or council


Contract
  • Initial 6 month ongoing contract
  • PAYE via Umbrella
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm 3 days in office
  • Enhanced DBS clearance required
