A well-established construction and engineering specialist is looking for an experienced Steel Package Manager to oversee the delivery of both primary and secondary steelwork packages on a civil engineering project. Role Overview:

The Steel Package Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of primary and secondary steelwork packages. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement, fabrication, and installation of primary and secondary steelwork packages, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
  • Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and programme efficiency.
  • Work closely with the design, engineering, and procurement teams to coordinate structural steel elements.
  • Conduct site inspections, identify potential risks, and implement solutions to maintain project progress.
  • Ensure all steelwork aligns with technical specifications, industry standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing both primary and secondary steel packages in the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection methodologies, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and construction software.
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
