Immediate Start - Interim Head of Governance – 6-month FTC
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to London)
Contract: Full-time (will consider part-time 4 days a week), 6-month FTC
I am excited to be working with an amazing membership organisation in search of an Interim Head of Governance. Are you an experienced leader with a passion for governance, safeguarding, and team management? We are seeking an Interim Head of Governance to oversee key operational functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead and support governance, safeguarding, and compliance functions, ensuring best practices.
•    Work closely with senior leadership to support complaints management and equitable service delivery.
•    Oversee risk management, conflict of interest policies, and data protection compliance.
•    Line manage key team members and ensure adherence to organisational protocols.
•    Act as Lead Safeguarding Officer, implementing policies and handling queries.
•    Contribute to the overall strategy and direction, supporting leadership in decision-making.
About You:
Essential Skills & Experience:
•    Proven experience in managing staff and volunteers, with strong collaboration skills.
•    Expertise in complaints handling and safeguarding in a non-profit or similar environment.
•    Strong ability to implement governance processes and manage risk registers.
•    Excellent judgment, confidentiality, and impartiality in decision-making.
•    Ability to build effective relationships and navigate complex situations.
Desirable:
•    Knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance.
•    Previous experience leading governance functions in another organisation.
