Bonne Maman is the leading brand within the jam category, has grown to number three in spreads and is now a strong competitor within chilled desserts and yoghurts. Their commercial operations are based in Hammersmith and they have a factory in Somerset.
Description
To support their growth, they are now seeking a Commercial Controller with strong grocery experience, to focus on Bonne Maman chilled desserts and yoghurts.
This is a newly created role, reporting to the Commercial Director, managing a portfolio of customers with a team of five.
- Manage and develop a team of 5 NAMs and NAEs and oversee the performance of sales team members to ensure sales targets are met
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies with the Commercial Director for the chilled, branded range
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key grocery clients
- Ensure administration tasks, CRM and day-to-day client relationships are managed smoothly
- Collaborate with colleagues in marketing/category/supply/ product development/finance
- Prepare detailed reports on sales performance and market trends
- Provide regular reports to clients and senior management on sales performance
- Working to achieve Key Performance Metrics with focus on control of spend budgets and achievement of volume growth
- Negotiation with customers and the ability to bring customer messages and insight into the business
Profile
A successful grocery Controller should have:
- Proven experience of working in chilled, branded goods in the UK FMCG market
- Must have a working knowledge of UK grocery
- Strong leadership, team management and client relationship skills
- Ability to understand the brand vision and adapt to its ways
- Strong strategic planning and execution abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Positive proactive attitude and likes to "roll up their sleeves" and work as an integral part of a team, whatever the activity
- Have a natural curiosity and not be afraid to make quick, impactful decisions
- Must be able to be in Hammersmith a minimum of 3 days a week
