 JOB SUMMARYFacilitate the strategic growth of the procurement function by endorsing and propelling commercial excellence via an exceptionally efficient procurement function, and by supporting, influencing, and contributing to the strategic and operational success of business-wide directorates.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  
  • Oversee the development of the Group's procurement operations' operational structure, which is supported by an aggressive plan and the execution of long-term strategies for every business division.
  • Assist the Group with Procurement matters by offering specialised help and guidance, allowing the firm to meet its needs while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Create, put into effect, and keep an eye on procurement policies, guidelines, and procedures that abide by applicable laws, rules, and customs.
  • In order to support procurement activities, oversee the creation, deployment, and upkeep of procurement systems and technology.
  • Collaborate and oversee cross-functional teams made up of colleagues in management and operations across the organisation, making sure they have all the tools necessary to meet operational goals.
  • In order to create a contractual pipeline that is completely in line with the requirements and priorities of operational teams and maximises best value, lead proactive study of defined areas of spend through effective use of project management, taking opportunity and risk into consideration.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEThe successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
  • It is not necessary to have prior expertise in the housing sector, but it will be advantageous for someone with a wide background in general indirect and construction-related services.
  • Seasoned procurement manager, preferably with background in implementing changes and enhancements in a brand-new or established procurement team.
  • Track record serving as a reliable resource for our senior leaders, offering guidance on a variety of topics to business divisions such as market trends, potential procurement strategies, best practices for tendering, contract award, implementation, and management.
  • To offer assurance, one must exhibit a thorough understanding and application of UK public sector procurement requirements as well as other pertinent laws.
  • Possess a degree or a professional certificate comparable to one in procurement, such as the MCIPS, or a closely similar sector.
