A fantastic lifestyle & apparel brand are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team

This is a key role within the company, being responsible for purchasing all of the goods needed as directed by the client team and resources needed for the smooth running of our busy studio. Reporting to the Studio Manager, being responsible for the purchasing process from sourcing new suppliers to approving invoices for payment. Our suppliers can be as global as our clients, so experience of dealing with suppliers outside the UK would be useful. Working closely with the client team, you will purchase goods required at the right price and to tight deadlines. Attention to detail is key with a healthy dose of organisation to keep all of the purchasing administration up to date. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous purchasing experience to take on the challenge of working independently to fulfill all of the needs of a growing company

The Role:

  • Develop and manage a core supplier list to reflect our 'trusted suppliers’.
  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships to negotiate shipping & distribution terms, quarterly price reviews.
  • Document all supplier information on the system.
  • Communicate and update the wider business and Client Services team on new suppliers and changes.
  • Working closely with our suppliers to build brand/supplier loyalty and to ensure product knowledge is developed and understood by our client team. New Brands/Products
  • Collaborating with New Business and the Purchasing Team, to obtain all information required, negotiating shipping and pricing.
  • Liaise with the Client Services team to facilitate the sampling process.
  • Adding new products to the system to be requested to Phung - a defined list of information Crew Source Brochure
  • Collaborate with the Creative & Design department to develop & maintain fresh and relevant information for the brochure displaying our core suppliers and products. Price Lists and Pricing Structure
  • Working with Operations and Finance, define and implement a clear pricing structure for all Source products factoring, Selling, Shipping and Import Costs. Requests for Pricing
  • Manage and ensure all RRP and new supplier requests are actioned and information provided back to the requestor within 2 working days.
  • Monitor and maintain all information in the system relating to products to check all product information is up to date.
  • Ensure that all products have a minimum data set, collaborating with data & systems analyst to define protocol where needed.
  • Review discontinued products every quarter, making them inactive & withdrawn where sold through. Order Process Communication & Coordination
  • Weekly meetings with the client team to go over jobs in process to make sure any 'red’ or 'stuck’ lines are identified, mitigated and communicated to the client.
  • Manage the returns process, working with the Warehouse and Client Services team also considering how software can support the process. Strategy
  • Developing and leading strategy to ensure the department is supporting company goals and growth.
  • Using data to make informed decisions and plan improvements.
  • Create pricing protocols and implement consistently across products ensuring strong margins, considering buy in, make costs & landed costs Team Management
  • Hold regular 1:1 meetings to review both personal development and day to day business.
  • Act as point of escalation for any purchasing related issues or querie.
  • Work alongside the Operations Manager to define the annual Purchasing Strategy.
  • Host weekly meetings to review projects and general team updates.
  • Review purchasing maps daily to ensure orders are meeting deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot issues, such as customs delays, supplier delays to minimise impact to orders and seek long term solutions to prevent issues reoccurring.
  • Define processes to fulfil business requirements and order fulfilment.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and develop into long term implementation.

Skills Required:

  • Analytical and organised with data, finances and information
  • A hands-on approach with a 'can-do’ attitude -
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Enjoys working in a team
  • Experience with working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident and driven individual, able to be self-motivated
  • Interest in sportswear, luxury brands, but not essential \ Your Attributes
  • 2 years experience in a similar purchasing role
  • Experience working with suppliers outside the UK
  • Excellent communication skills on email and phone
  • Intermediate or advanced word processing/spreadsheet skills
  • Knowledge of Mac and G-Drive beneficial
  • Interest in working with luxury brands or clothing is beneficial
