My client, an award-winning specialist wine importer and distributor are looking for a Stock and Purchasing Manager. This role is crucial within a small, dynamic team, where you will manage the purchasing of alcohol from around the globe and oversee stock held in various locations. This position suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a proactive, can-do attitude.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage the timely, accurate, and cost-effective procurement of wines and spirits.
- Raise and oversee purchase orders, ensuring smooth coordination with suppliers, transport companies, and warehouses.
- Ensure all import, supplier, and freight documentation is accurate and complete.
- Monitor stock levels and manage order lead times to optimise stock availability.
- Reconcile stock movements between the warehouse and Sage accounting software.
- Conduct monthly office and annual warehouse stock takes.
- Generate management reports on stock and purchasing using Sage and Excel.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Provide support to the Operations Manager and Finance team, including holiday cover.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain logistics, purchasing, or inventory management, ideally within the alcohol sector.
- Proficiency in Sage 200 is highly advantageous.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and general IT proficiency.
